International Informatization Academy is an NGO, the Associated Member of the United Nations in General Consultative Status with the Economic & Social Council of the United Nations.

NGOs represent virtually all facets of what is broadly referred to as "civil society" - everything from professional groups, business interests, youth, and community activists concerned with such areas as the environment, health, development, and human rights. As they have brought their concerns and demands to the UN, they have forced the world body to open its procedures. This has enabled NGOs to proceed to help shape the directions of programs and priorities.

On April 20, 2009, the University of Montreal awarded Mr. Charles Aznavour with a honorable doctorate diploma in recognition to his exceptional contribution to the french culture around the world. The ceremony took place at the Ernest-Cormier amphitheatre of the Roger-Gaudry pavillion at the University of Montreal.

The International Informatization Academy attended this private ceremony and was gladly received by Mr. Aznavour himself.

During the meeting, Mr. Aznavour noted that he would gladly receive the IIA delegation in Switzerland where he currently resides.
